Optimism still high among the professions: management consultants and lawyers are doing well - and so are their clients

Article Abstract:

The Australian service industry sector is thriving in the areas of management consulting and corporate law. Their expertise and the success of their corporate clients reflect an aggressive approach to business growth in the Australian economy. Management consultant A.T. Kearney reached its 40% increase in budget within the first six months of 1998. McKinsey and Co. finds itself needing more consultants to meet demands for planning future strategies. Law firms are doing brisk business in both mergers and insolvency restructuring as industry changes weed out those businesses that cannot overcome debt.
