Article Abstract:

Linc Energy wants to develop a Queensland underground coal gasification project which will produce clean coal power generation. Air, steam, oxygen or a combination of all three is piped into an underground coal seam, set on fire and piped off into a power station as fuel gas or converted to synthetic fuel oil. Greenhouse gas emissions and unit electricity capital costs decrease.

A glimpse at the sector wise water consumption in Australia, the revenue generated per mega litre of water used by different industries is presented. The price being paid for water by each of these industries is also examined.
