Phar-Mor asks for bankruptcy protection

Phar-Mor filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Aug 17, 1992. The firm also filed a lawsuit against Coopers and Lybrand for negligence in auditing, and Phar-Mor co-founder Michael Monus sold his stake in the Colorado Rockies baseball team.

Accounting firm sued by RTC

Article Abstract:

The RTC filed a lawsuit against Arthur Andersen for negligence during the audit of Ben Franklin Savings Assn. The $400-million suit is believed to be the largest of its kind.
