Publishing industry

Article Abstract:

Cost control, rather than revenue expansion, has become important to the publishing industry, as there is little growth in demand in the traditional print markets. However, educational publishing has become a positive segment of the industry, and revenue has also increased for some of the periodical publishers. There are few timely stocks in this industry, which is expected to underperform the market in 1998, and investors must be selective.
