Regional Bias

Article Abstract:

Jack Rooney follows regional bank stocks. In an interview he explains his field and his favorite stocks. Rooney believes regional banks have more to offer than the major banks. He covers mainly regional banks in the Northeast. These banks are usually not involved in the international situation and have had good earnings growth. Interstate banking has had no important effect on banks in recent years. Healso is optimistic about many savings and loans. He recommends some of his favorite banks.

Global and regional public goods: a prognosis for collective action

Article Abstract:

The mixture between nation-specific and transnational public benefits serves a key promoting factor in the provision of a transnational public goods. It was noted that the probability of a national action increases as the proportion of nation-specific benefits to total benefits also increases. The removal of uncertainty, a limited number of participants and the existence of an influential leader are other factors identified that promote collective action at the transnational level.
