Salinas's brother linked to slaying

Former Mexican Pres Carlos Salinas de Gortari's brother Raul Salinas was arrested on Feb 28, 1995, on charges that he helped plan the Sep 1994, assassination of Massieu. In a related development, Massieu's brother Mario Ruiz Massieu was arrested on Mar 3, 1995, and charged with embezzling.

U.S. judge rejects Ruiz deportation

Article Abstract:

A New Jersey federal judge ruled on Feb 28, 1996, that Ruiz does not have to undergo deportation proceedings. Both US and Mexican authorities have been trying to extradite Ruiz back to Mexico to stand trail on charges of embezzlement and covering up the murder of his brother.

Suspects arrested in Colosio slaying

Article Abstract:

Vasquez was arrested Feb 25, 1995, and charged with being the second gunman in Colosio's assassination. The arrest resulted from details gathered during a second investigation of the murder, and raised questions about the death of Colosio being a conspiracy.
