Sect remains focus of nerve-gas probe

Article Abstract:

Members of the Aum Shinrikyo religious sect are accused of setting off nerve gas in the Tokyo subway system on Mar 20, 1995, and killing 11 people. A warehouse on the grounds of the sect was found to contain the chemicals that make the nerve gas sarin. More evidence is needed to charge sect members.

Japanese cult leader arrested, charged with subway nerve-gas attack

Article Abstract:

Asahara, the leader of Aum Shinrikyo, a Japanese religious cult accused in a nerve gas attack in Tokyo that killed 12 people, was arrested on May 16, 1995, in a raid on a cult compound in Kamikuishiki, Japan. He and 40 other cult members are being accused of murder and attempted murder.

Nerve-gas attack on Tokyo subway system kills 10; Police raid religious sect's offices, seize chemicals

Article Abstract:

Ten people were killed and more than 5,000 were injured in a nerve-gas attack which occurred during morning rush-hour on Mar 20, 1995. Japanese authorities believe the chemical sarin was used in the attack. They raided the offices of the cult Aum Shinrikyo on Mar 22, 1995.
