How to reduce risk on your investment portfolio

Article Abstract:

Dollar averaging is one of the methods used by investors and investment managers to minimize their risks in the stock market. It entails adherence to a strict investment schedule and may thus test the patience of investors and investment managers. Dollar averaging was compared with another investment strategy for an investment worth $60,000. It was shown that dollar averaging gave a profit of $134 over three months while leaving $45,000 in the bank for further investment. The other strategy involved investing the entire $60,000 in one shot, resulting in a loss of $6,000 in the first month.

Case study: The importance of representations and indemnifications

Article Abstract:

Buyers of businesses are advised to obtain the personal indemnification of the seller as this would protect the buyers in the event of misrepresentations in the Purchase and Sale Agreement. Indemnification for representations is especially significant when the buyer is relying heavily on the word and representations of a single individual. Buyers can also check the seller's credit rating and integrity to safeguard their purchases. Representations include financial statements, the client list and the sales per client and accounts receivable.

The business owner ... ideas to increase and protect your wealth

Article Abstract:

Some pointers are given to business owners on how to increase and protect their assets. Tax returns and information statements should not be filed late to avoid penalties or interests. A tickler system should be maintained by an accountant or a secretary to function as a reminder of filing dates. Term investments made by the business should be marked on the calendar along with the maturity date. Lawyers should be referred to before negotiations and should always be updated on major developments.
