A comparative study on the structural relationships of manufacturing practices, lead time and productivity in Japan and Korea

Article Abstract:

The existence of a significant relationship between manufacturing practices, lead time and productivity was noted in Japan and Korea. Utilization of a structural relationship model with five exogenous manufacturing practice constructs and two endogenous manufacturing performance constructs revealed that process and process technologies and materials management have marked impact on length of the lead time in Japan and Korea. Process and process technologies were also noted to have a direct relationship with productivity in both nations.
