An empirical study of software process maturity, TQM practices and organizational characteristics in Taiwanese companies

Article Abstract:

The relationship between total quality management (TQM)-based organizational culture, organizational characteristics, information systems (IS) department characteristics and the modified software maturity process (MCMM) in Taiwanese companies are examined. The results show that the use of data, continuous improvement, customer-orientation and the job challenges are significantly correlated with the MCMM levels and the size of the organization, IS department size, and IS department also have impacts on MCMM level.

Implementation of TQM and Lean Six Sigma tools in local government: A framework and a case study

Article Abstract:

The implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) tools in local government and a case study of applying Lean Six Sigma tools and principles to improving the quality and timeliness of providing local governmental services are presented. The results show that combining the principles and tools of Lean Enterprise and Six Sigma provides an excellent way to improve the productivity and quality of providing financial services at a local government level.
