Semiconductor (capital equipment)

Article Abstract:

The overcapacity production that played havoc with the semiconductor industry in 1995 has made semiconductor production equipment industry securities uninteresting to investors but these securities should begin to show marked advances in coming months. Although the disinterest in semiconductor and semiconductor production equipment industry securities has been worldwide, most experts believe that the slump in sales and production has reached its lowest point and that rapid rises should occur shortly. However, the rise might not occur in 1997 but in following years.

Semiconductor (capital equipment)

Article Abstract:

The microchip market continues to be soft in 1996, and silicon manufacturers in the US have seen bookings fall. This overcapacity in the semiconductor industry has led to weak orders for semiconductor equipment. However, other uses for components will benefit many of these companies, and there should be a market turnaround by 1999-2001. Investors should find individual stocks that have potential for price recovery by the end of the 1990s.

Semiconductor (capital equipment) industry

Article Abstract:

The semiconductor industry has seen a slow period, from November 95 to April 96, as orders for chips have fallen or been delayed. Few makers are expanding production. Still, stocks in this group should be carefully reviewed because of their low prices. The companies should benefit from expansion into alternative markets such as cellular phones and automobile systems.
