Electrical equipment industry

Article Abstract:

A number of the companies in the electrical equipment industry have done well domestically despite the relatively sluggish growth of the US economy. Overseas results are mixed with China and India holding the most promise. Japan's economy is on the upswing and the European economy is soft. Investors should consider companies individually rather than the group as a whole. Companies with timeliness rankings of the "highest" or "above average" warrant attention.

Electrical equipment industry

Article Abstract:

The new trend of broad diversification of electrical equipment companies' product lines, coupled with a large number of acquisitions and divestitures within the industry, has caused major detractions to investor interest in the industry as a whole. Conservative investors who are attracted by high safety ratings and the possibility of relatively assured 3 to 5 year performance can find few companies for serious investment consideration.

Electrical equipment industry

Article Abstract:

The European and US companies which comprise the electric equipment sector are attempting to use operating efficiencies in order to improve earnings in this mature industry. There is also considerable capital investment in the Asia-Pacific and European regions as 50% of the industry's revenues come from international operations. Investors must evaluate these stocks on an individual basis as the industry is below average in timeliness.
