Symonds moves into Perth in grand style

Article Abstract:

Symonds Facilities and Project Management has won eight project management contracts worth an estimated A$600,000 since entering the Perth market in Dec 1997. Symonds Facilities and Project Management already has a large presence in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. The firm is owned by Compagnie Generale des Eaux, the French utilities conglomerate, which acquired Symonds Facilities and Project Management in 1996.

Perth shop row ends in a draw

Article Abstract:

A real estate case recently withdrawn from the Western Australian Supreme Court after a change of property ownership would have defined limits of Australian law governing commercial leases. The case involved a landlord who sued to prevent a tenant from closing a retail establishment in a shopping mall. There is no Australian case law governing such an unusual development.

Prices soar as Western Australians build their latest Millionaires Row

Australia's southwestern region is experiencing a real estate price boom as millionaires purchase land and homes. The area has drawn more than A$100 million in development funds since the end of 1997, and square meter costs have nearly doubled for land that can be turned into vineyards. Prices have ranged between A$1.5 million and A$5.1 million.
