The poet Thurairajah Tambimuttu founded the magazine Poetry London-New York: A Magazine of the New Moderns and it was sponsored by a wealthy socialite, Mrs. Carleton Palmer, until she cut off its funding due to the influence of a poet named Christopher on Tambimuttu. The magazine is described.
