Task-related and partner-related selection criteria in UK international joint ventures

Article Abstract:

A study involving international joint ventures formed by UK companies and partners in the US, Japan and Western Europe seeks to distinguish between partner-related and task-related selection criteria. The study provides support for Geringer's (1991) research which concludes that partner selection is one of the most important variables in forming and operating joint ventures. The impact of task-related and partner-related criteria is discussed.
