The Cisco whiz kid

Article Abstract:

Michelangelo Volpi, at age 31, is vice president of business development at Cisco Systems, Inc. The Italian citizen who also speaks English and Japanese, perfected by age l7, went to Stanford University in 1984 and got a bachelor's and a master's degree in mechanical engineering. He's been in Silicon Valley ever since, learning how to be one of the most, if not the most, sought after deal-maker in the industry. He and his team typically work on eight to ten acquisitions per year.

BankAmerica president says he will quit; Nationsbank merger leads to culture clash

Article Abstract:

The resignation of David A. Coulter as president of the new BankAmerica Corp. came as a surprise and not. There has been speculation since April about the merging of the different cultures present in the former BankAmerica and Nationsbank. There is also talk about third quarter losses and bad loans as contributing factors. October 31, 1998, is to be his last day. Coulter could take approximately $30 million in cash and stock upon leaving.
