The Company Mailing List: An Under-Used Asset

Article Abstract:

The company mailing list, aptly described as 'a central client information file', is a valuable asset. An accounts receivable list is a good source for a mailing list. The mailing list can be administered on-site or by a service bureau. After determining for what purposes the file is to be maintained, decisions must be made on the information to be included with each record, and the sources. Updating procedures must be formalized. Suggestions include updating new clients, checking returned mail, checking for duplication, and use of postcards for economy.
