The Internet: seling points

Article Abstract:

Electronic commerce is changing. The World Wide Web has dramatically effected commerce; currently major manufacturing companies such as 3Com purchase about 50 percent of their materials through the Web. With the success of Web sites like Amazon.com, many companies are following suit with their own Web retail sites. Sites provide valuable information for customers who don't want to complete the purchasing process online, but would like to research price and availability. While most areas of industry are advancing quickly in this area, some, such as health care, are progressing more slowly.

The future of advertising online is not completely clear. As consumers begin to use the Internet advertisements and consumer practices are tracked, the practice will become more common and space will be in more demand.
