The moderating effect of salesperson reward orientation on the relative effectiveness of alternative compensation plans

Article Abstract:

Investigations into the motivations effected on salesperson performance of various compensation scheme showed the indirect but important interaction between personality factors and the structural characteristics of the job. The salary scheme worked best for intrinsically reward oriented salesperson while the commission scheme worked best for extrinsically reward oriented salesperson. But the commission scheme also works for the intrinsically reward oriented salesperson when the commission is used as a gauge of performance effectiveness.

How market orientation affects female service employees in Thailand

Article Abstract:

Male-dominant Western managers and salespersons have benefited from the implementation of market orientation and a study was undertaken of female service employees in Thailand to establish whether such benefit could be rendered across culture and gender. It was observed that market orientation did not have a positive impact on job satisfaction of the Thai female employees and customer orientation and interfunctional coordination fared only slightly better.
