Think big: for entrepreneurs, size isn't nearly the handicap in cyberspace that it is in the real world

Article Abstract:

Cold Fusion Sports Inc, located in San Francisco, operates as a 'virtual store,' and consequently, the company's ramshackle store and offices filled with jumbles and stacks of products is managed quite differently than a conventional retail establishment. Cold Fusion knows that the building and the seeming disorder inside do not matter because customers are unlikely ever to see it. What matters is a clean, well-designed Web site. The challenge, according to CEO neil McKinnel, is to make the company's site look and feel professional. Cold Fusion's Web site address is www.thesnowboardshop.com. The company sells snowboards and is attempting to use the Web to build a community among snowboarders. For example, a bulletin board for snowboarders has been made available.
