Victim Venue Boilerroom Solution?

Article Abstract:

1978 was characterized by a high degree of boiler room fraud. Investors were attracted by high prices in precious metals. Some thirty thousand people may have been bilked out of two hundred and seventy-five million dollars in just a few years time. Boiler-room tactics continue to be all too prevalent in Florida. Federal law enforcement has turned its attention to other types of crime in Florida and neglected to oversee economic crime. Victim venue projects should be introduced in the victim's jurisdiction. Out-of-state jurisdictional problems would be easier to handle. From 1979 to 1982, the United States Attorney in Chicago conducted a successful project against six out-of-state operations. Boilerroom operations do not fear censure from civil law. Industry must adopt an active stance in dealing with fraud.
