A dramatic sense of lighting

Article Abstract:

Andre Tammes is a director of Lighting Design Partnership. His career started in stage lighting and he uses his sense of drama to enhance the architecture of buildings with light. Tammes is working on master lighting plans for Edinburgh, Scotland and Westminster, London, England which are intended to replace the competitive lighting schemes of individual buildings. Tammes was a pioneer of modern architectural lighting and his company has benefitted from working on many of the commercial developments in Britain during the 1980s.

The ethics of green practice

Article Abstract:

Environmental studies on building designs has become more popular in the 1990's and architects have since been inundated with technical data and examples of projects using new practices. Architects often do not have the same attitude as many consumers, who wish to reduce man's impact on the environment and use buildings which have been designed with energy efficiency in mind. If architects were to change their ethical approach to work Britain would see a rapid increase in environmental debate.
