A new approach for solving repair limit problems

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to characterize an approach for determining optimal repair limits associated with failure of a component. Numerical solutions were determined for a number of Weibull and Special Erlang distributed time to failure distributions. Results indicated that the structural form of the repair limit function generated a solution process that is faster than those supported by conventional methods.
