A special case of transfer lines balancing by graph approach

Article Abstract:

The balancing problem for paced production lines with workstations in series and blocks of parallel operations at the workstations is discussed. A method for solving the problem, based on its transformation to a constrained shortest path problem, is suggested.

Controlling mixed-model assembly lines in real-time by using distributed systems

Article Abstract:

A new approach for an adaptive real-time control of assembly lines that extends the pure sequencing problem by the integration of specific line-balancing aspects and the mapping of consequences of possible disturbance scenarios, is discussed.
