Voice of the people

Article Abstract:

Talk-radio is becoming increasingly popular in Asia and giving a voice to a wider range of people. The topics discussed include sex and politics and this reflects an increasingly open society. Some countries such as Myanmar seek to control the political discussions, while others, such as the Philippines, are more open. Talk-radio has been linked to political liberalization in Taiwan and Thailand. Hong Kong may find some restrictions imposed on talk-radio shows after the handover to China.
