When financing is an asset

Article Abstract:

Asset-based financing is becoming an important method of structuring acquisitions which are designed to grow a company. Leeds-based Venture Finance has provided over 25 million pounds sterling worth of funding for asset-based transactions during the period from 1996 to 1998. Asset-based finance offers small to mid-sized firms the chance to become totally involved in the financial process, by building a close working relationship which many of the larger banks can no longer do.

Under starter's orders

Article Abstract:

The German merger and acquisition market rose to a record level in 1998, when an estimated 2,100 deals worth more than Dm300 billion were undertaken. It is possible that Germany may see increasingly strong merger and acquisition activity growth in the short- to medium-term. Many German companies are now considering quite ambitious merger and acquisition programmes, and activity levels are likely to remain high for some time.
