Article Abstract:
The videophone is as example of a promising technology that never achieved mass appeal. Until recently video phones were too expensive, with poor picture quality, but mostly people conversing via telephone did not need or want pictures. PC-based videophones may finally catch on.

The use of 'community' has increased to ridiculous proportions. 'Gay community,' 'business community' and other such terms imply a unity that does not exist. The original meaning of community described a group of people who knew one another.
