Expandia Banka (EB) (Prague, Czech Republic), bank involved in direct banking, saw a loss of 201 mil Kc in 1998. The 1998 year was the first year of the bank's operation. The bank was to see a loss of 220 mil Kc in 1998. Reasons for the better result were cost saving and an increase in the volume of received primary deposits. EB's owner is Expandia Holding, which formed a premium fund from its sources. The fund is intended for the covering of losses for the first two years of the bank's operation. The bank has 10,880 clients currently. The number of the firm's clients increases by 60 per day on average. EB's total deposit volume is 486 mil Kc.
