ABB posts 92% jump in third-quarter net

ABB Ltd. of Switzerland has posted a 92 percent net profit surge in the third quarter to $188 million from $98 million last year. The electrical engineering company consolidated, restructured its transformer business and has cost considerations from asbestos lawsuits in the United States. Revenue for ABB Ltd. is up 13 percent to $5.65 billion from $5.01 billion.
