SM Datta will be the new chairman of the Timesbank. He is taking over from BG Deshmukh. SM Datta is the former chairman of Hindustan Lever Ltd. The Timesbank is a private sector bank with a network of 33 branches. It had 150,000 customers and deposits of Rs2,300 crore in 1997-98. (ag/kvr)
