AOL Europe scores in Germany: lower prices draw more customers

Article Abstract:

A new fixed-rate pricing plan has sparked AOL Europe's membership in Germany. As of mid-Oct 1999, the online service had over a million subscribers, after holding steady at 900,000 for most of 1999. The new pricing plan took effect Oct 1. AOL Europe rival Deutsche Telekom AG has made strong gains in 1999, primarily after April price cuts.
