ARVIND MILLS WALKS OUT OF GHOGHA POWER PROJECT

Article Abstract:

Arvind Mills Limited has withdrawn from the Rs1,500-crore, 375 mw Ghogha power project as the Gujarat Power Corporation Limited has extended the time for bids and the Rs8 crore bank guarantee up to March 31, 1999. The Gujarat Power Corporation Limited has been delaying the decision of awarding the contract to the bidders for the past 2 years. Arvind Mills Limited has made a security deposit of Rs2 crore while making the bid for the project. The exit of Arvind Mills Limited from the project leaves Reliance and Larsen & Toubro in the race.
