AUSTRIA: CAPITAL INJECTION TO WINTERSTEIGER

Article Abstract:

UBF, a venture capital fund of Bank Austria, is taking a 20% stake in the Austrian company Wintersteiger. The company that is based in Ried/Innkreis produces specialist machines for ski manufacturers as well as machinery for the wood processing industry, especially thin-cutting frame saws . Beside the capital injection by UBF, the share capital of Wintersteiger is to be raised from Sch 70mn to Sch 100mn. Wintersteiger is to seek growth especially in the field of wood processing machines. Turnover is to be raised to up to Sch 500mn in the medium term, partly through acquisitions. The company already claims a 80% share of the world market for thin-cutting machines. Wintersteiger expects to raise turnover to up to Sch 2bn in the medium term. Last year the company made a profit on ordinary activities of Sch 75mn on a turnover of Sch 800mn.
