AUSTRIA: FREE MOBILES FOR HOLIDAY-MAKERS

The Austrian municipality of Ellmau is planning to make mobile phones available free of charge to holiday-makers. Thus families will be able to go in for different activities during the holiday and still keep in contact. The project is to be financed by sponsors.

GERMANY: TUI OPTS FOR TRAVIAUSTRIA

TUI of Germany, Europe's largest tourism group, is to use the CETS on-line booking platform of Traviaustria, a subsidiary of Austrian Airlines. Last financial year Traviaustria made a profit on ordinary activities of Sch 19.5mn on a turnover of Sch 151.7mn. CETS is being used by 769 travel agencies.
