AUSTRIA/GERMANY/SWITZERLAND: NEW TILTING TRAINS

Article Abstract:

Tenders are being invited for the 116 tilting motor trains to be bought by the national railway companies of Austria, Germany and Switzerland, OBB , Deutsche Bahn (DB) and Schweizerische Bundesbahnen (SBB). About Sch 20bn is to be invested in the trains by 2006. OBB is to order 32 trains worth Sch 5.6bn for operation on the Western line.

AUSTRIA/GERMANY/SWITZERLAND: RAILWAY COOPERATION

Article Abstract:

The national railway companies of Austria, Germany and Switzerland, OBB , Deutsche Bahn (DB) and Schweizerische Bundesbahnen (SBB), have agreed upon cooperation in passenger services. The three companies are to purchase jointly new tilting trains which will be used for services from Austria to Zurich and Frankfurt.

AUSTRIA: ELIN EBG, BOMBARDIER WIN OBB CONTRACT

Article Abstract:

Osterreichische Bundesbahnen has placed a contract with a project group of Bombardier and Elin EBG Traction for the delivery of new city and suburban train sets. A set costs Sch 45mn for three wagons and Sch 40mn for the electric railcar.
