Article Abstract:

Analysts expect Telekom Austria group to remain in the red in net results in 2001. Erste Bank expects the group to make profits in 2003 and Merrill Lynch in 2004. Telekom's target of an earnings before interest, taxes, depreciations and amortisations of EUR 1.2bn in 2001 is considered realistic. In the first half of 2001 the group saw ebitda grow 10.1% to EUR 704.6mn, while turnover grew 0.6% to EUR 1.935bn. Mobilkom Austria increased ebitda by 43.7% to EUR 289.6mn and turnover 15.8%. Telekom Austria, on the other hand, saw ebitda fall 5.4% to EUR 415mn and turnover 6.4% to EUR 1.330bn.
