AUSTRIA: NEUSON IN LINK WITH FMW

In Austria, the Kirchstetten-based company FMW AG has been sold by Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederosterreich-Wien to Kurt Helletzgruber and Johann Neunteufel, owners of the Linz-based company Neuson AG. FMW produces machinery and plant for the pulp and paper industries. Last financial year it had a turnover of Sch 400mn to Sch 450mn. Neuson is planning extensive investments in FMW, which has reduced the number of staff to 160 within a restructuring programme. Neuson produces construction machines. With 500 staff, it generates an annual turnover of about Sch 2bn.

AUSTRIA/GERMANY: NEUSON AND KRAMER TO MERGE
Article Abstract:
Austrian excavator producer Neuson, Linz is planning to merge with its German competitor Kramer of Uberlingen/Lake Constance. Both companies see clear synergy effects and aim to raise their added output from 7,000 units to at least 10,000 units annually by 2002. Neuson specialises in miniature excavators and has conquered a market share of 10% in Europe. 400 staff generate a turnover of Sch 150mn. Kramer has 550 employees and generates a turnover of Sch 80mn with wheel loaders, combined dredger-loaders and mobile excavators.

AUSTRIA: FMW CUTTING JOBS

In Austria, Kirchstetten-based FMW Forderanlagen und Maschinenbau AG has announced the redundancy of 60 of the 160 staff. FMW was taken over by Linz-based Neuson AG at the end of July 2000.
