AUSTRIA: DECISION ON HELICOPTERS BY YEAR-END

Article Abstract:

The decision on the purchase of transport helicopters for the Austrian defence force is to be taken by the end of 1999. The Bundesheer is evaluating four offers. The Bundesheer is to get 9-12 new transport helicopters to replace eight Agusta-Bell 204 helicopters. The investment amounts to about Sch 2.5bn. Among the offers is one for Puma helicopters and one for S-70A Black Hawk helicopters. Sikorsky of the US says that the delivery could take place 8-15 months from the signing of the contract. The maker of the Black Hawk is promising compensation deals worth no less than the contract value.

Austria: Jet2Web withdraws advertisement

Article Abstract:

Austrian Internet provider Jet2Web has been forced to withdraw an advertisement which claimed that its Internet access packet Aon-Speed provided unlimited access for Sch 199 per month after the consumer protection agency found that both claims were untrue. The packet actually costs Sch 578 per month and access is limited to 30 hours per month.
