AUSTRIA: STRONG GROWTH FOR DOPPELMAYR

Article Abstract:

The Austrian company Doppelmayr reports a record inflow of orders and an increase of market shares in Europe and the US in the fiscal year to 31 March 1999. On the other hand, business in Asia was slack. The company saw a 37% increase in turnover to Sch 3.27bn for the division of ski-lifts, cable-cars and Cable Liner . Turnover from lifts declined 9% to Sch 137mn. The sales of the warehouse technology division LTW grew 25% to Sch 237mn. Austria and the rest of Europe contributed 36% to cable-car business each, while 20% of sales was generated in North America. Doppelmayr expects to be able to maintain the high level of sales in the current fiscal year.

AUSTRIA: IFE STAYS IN THE RED

Article Abstract:

IFE Industrie-Einrichtungen Fertigungs-Aktiengesellschaft made a loss on ordinary activities of Sch 5.3mn on a group turnover of Sch 723mn (up 3.6%) in the first half of 1999. The loss in the year earlier period totalled Sch 0.9mn.
