AUSTRIA: TISCALI'S AMBITIONS

Article Abstract:

Tiscali, the Italian internet provider, aims to become one of the market leaders in Austria within two years. This is to be achieved by means of one or two acquisitions. Tiscali currently runs the SurfEU portal in Austria and represents portals of other companies such as RSLCom. In future the company is to offer ADSL services also to private clients and not just companies. In the private client sector, Tiscali is setting hopes on cooperation with Media-Saturn.

AUSTRIA: AUSTRONAUT EYEING EUROPEAN MARKET

Article Abstract:

Walter Karban, who developed the Austrian Internet search engine Austronaut, is planning to expand with the product through Europe. In February 2000 the product will be launched in Poland, followed by the Czech Republic and Hungary under the name Geonaut. Austronaut will be integrated into Microsoft's Windows 2000. Mr Karban's international partner is Alta Vista.
