AUSTRIA: VIENNA CINEMAS INTO THEATRES
Article Abstract:
The theatre and culture group Spielraum is close to signing a lease for the former Erika cinema in the Kaiserstra e in Vienna. The group plans to open the stage for plays within a year. The city of Vienna is to take over 25% of the conversion costs, while the rest is to be raised from sponsors. According to SPO politician Gabriele Zimmermann, also another theatre group is looking for premises in the same district of the Austrian capital.

Austria: Mozart house with Vienna architects
Article Abstract:
In Salzburg, the conversion of the Kleines Festspielhaus into a House for Mozart is to start in autumn 2002. The Sch 400mn project is to be completed in summer 2005. The winners in the planning competition were the Vienna architects Hubert Hermann and Francois Valentiny and the Salzburg-based civil engineers Robert Wimmer and Michael Zaic.
