AUSTRIA: VW ALL-WHEEL DRIVE FROM GRAZ

Article Abstract:

Volkswagen has placed a contract with Steyr-Fahrzeugtechnik (SFT) for the development of a new all-wheel drive for the Golf and Polo cars. The contract that runs until 2006/2007 is worth Sch 1bn annually. The transmission is to be developed by the end of 1999, after which production is to start. Other recent contracts won by SFT include the construction of a convertible and coupe car on the basis of the 9-3 model of Saab and the construction of 3,000 units of a luxury version of Opel Omega.

Gemischte Finanzierung f r Terminal Graz

Article Abstract:

A group consisting of the combined transport company kombi and several transport companies from the Graz region is said to be interested in operating the planned cargo terminal at Werndorf, Graz. The Sch 1bn terminal is to be built by state-owned Schieneninfrastrukturfinanzierungsgesellschaft (Schig). Tenders for the operation of the terminal are to be invited in autumn 1998.

AUSTRIA: SCHEDULE FOR GRAZ BUILDING PROJECT

Article Abstract:

The winning architect to design the new House of the Arts in Graz is to be selected by April 2000. Construction of the building with an area of about 6,600 sq.m is to start in 2001 and completion for the end of 2002.
