Austrian motorists' club OAMTC has tested winter tyres of the 185/60 R 14T category. The tyres classified as "particularly recommendable" are - Continental Winter Contact TS 780 - Goodyear Ultra Grip 5 - Bridgestone Blizzak LM 18 - Uniroyal MS plus 44 - Pirelli Winter 190 Direzionale - Maloya Cresta 220 - Nokian Hakkapeliitta NRW The following tyres were classified as "recommendable": - Firestone FW 930 - Semperit Direction Grip - Vredestein Snowtrac - Barum Polaris OR 60 - Dunlop Wintersport M2 - Pneumant P M+S 1000 - Fulda Kristall Gravito The following tyres were classified as "conditionally recommendable": - Michelin Alpin - S-Point Eurostar Winter

AUSTRIA: QUALITY RANKING OF TYRES
Article Abstract:
In a test carried out by the Austrian motorists' club OAMTC of 23 summer tyres, best marks in the 175/65R 13T category were given to Continental EcoContact EP. A total of 9 tyres were tested in this category. In the 205/55R 16W category, best marks were given to Bridgestone RE 720, Continental PremiumContact and Dunlop Sport 9000.

JAPAN/AUSTRIA: NEW BRIDGESTONE MOTORBIKE TYRES
Article Abstract:
Bridgestone has presented two new models in the BT-54 range of motorbike tyres. BT-010 was developed for sports and BT-020 for road traffic. From June 2000 the tyres will be available in all common dimensions in the aftermarket. They are also used by some motorbike manufacturers as original equipment.
