AVASARALA TUNGSTEN TO HIKE NON-SAG WIRE PRODUCTION CAPACITY

Article Abstract:

Avasarala Tungsten Ltd of Mysore is thinking of increasing non- sag tungsten wire production capacity from one tonne per month at present to 3 tonnes per month. The cost of the expansion is estimated at Rs2 crore. Production will be raised to two tonnes per month by February 1999 with the installation of balancing equipment and to 3 tonnes per month within six months. The company is the first in India to produce non-sag tungsten wire through powder metallurgy using ammonium paratungstate. (khr)

COMPAQ BEATS IBM, BAGS Rs8 CRORE HPL PROJECT

Article Abstract:

Compaq is a software development company. It has won the Rs8 crore campus networking development project for the Haldia Petrochemical Ltd (HPL). HPL has emerged as the first company in eastern India to have implemented SAP R/3 software. The software was implemented in association with Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PC). Compaq has beaten IBM Global in winning the HPL contract for its networking project. (gs)

MIDHANI GETS APPROVAL STATUS AS SUPPLIER FOR BOEING

The Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani) has received the source approval status from the Boeing company of USA. The status helps Midhani Dhatu Nigam Limited supply pure titanium and premium titanium alloy products for to the Boeing company for the manufacture of aircraft. Boeing company and its suppliers will start buying their needs of titanium and its alloy products from Midhani soon. (ag)
