Agency numbers nosedive

Article Abstract:

There are only 60 advertising agencies doing business in Indonesia vs the 250 which used to operate in the country, stated industry analysts. The trend is linked to the ongoing economic and political turmoil in the country. Adwork! Euro RSGC managing director Triawan Munaf believes that more advertising agencies will choose to shut down if conflict continues in Indonesia. Agencies found it hard to get paid for their work for clients, noted Munaf. Another problem is that many advertisers chose to eliminate advertising or reduce their advertising budgets, indicated Indonesian Association of Advertising Agencies chairman Yusca Ismail.
