Air cargo revenue management: characteristics and complexities

Article Abstract:

Cargo inventory, cargo business and cargo booking patterns distinguish air cargo revenue management (CRM) from passenger yield management (PYM). While CRM focuses on the integrated management of the available belly space and payload and cargo rates after accommodating passengers and their bags, PYM is primarily concerned with the integrated management of price and inventory to maximize profitability. The development and implementation of CRM involves complexities, including capacity and demand forecasting, allotment determination, overbooking, bucket allocation, and cargo profitability.

Vehicle routing problem with trailers

Article Abstract:

Construction and improvement heuristics are proposed for a tool that is being developed for the vehicle routing problem with trailers (VRPT). The two basic assumptions indicate that all customers have unit demand and each trailer is parked exactly once. A model with a free number of parking places could be likewise developed as one of the next steps in the VRPT research.
