Airborne Inc. continued to wax confident about Deutsche Post AG's acquisition of its ground operations pushing through. Deutsche Post's DHL Worldwide Express Inc. subsidiary plans to acquire the operations for around $1 billion (919 million euros).

Deutsche Post plays down expansion

Deutsche Post AG stated that it is not planning to start a ground-delivery business in the United States. The company has been trying to stave off attacks by United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS) and FedEx Corp.

Germany intends to fully privatize Deutsche Post
