Court in Hamburg approves Airbus plan to build facility

Airbus Industrie has been given approval by a court in Hamburg, Germany for the construction of a A380 superjumbo jetliner facility. Issues that were raised by environmentalists and residents will remain open for consideration.

Airbus move to build in China may pose a longer-term risk

Article Abstract:

French aircraft manufacturer Airbus S.A.S. has sold 170 planes to China, and will build an A320 jetliner assembly plant in Tianji n . However, there are r isks involved in setting up a plant in China, including lack of profitability, and aiding China in establishing its own aircraft industry.

Airbus picks plant buyers: revamping proceeds with 6 planned sales; pressure from Boeing

Article Abstract:

European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS N.V., the parent firm of Airbus S.A.S., has chosen three companies as potential buyers for six of its Europe-based manufacturing plants. The three firms are the UK's GKN PLC, France's Latecoere S.A., and Germany's MT Aerospace, a unit of OHB Technology AG. The three firms will also negotiate for work on the Airbus A350 craft.
