Alfresh Foods of Fort Lauderdale, FL, created Alfresh Beverages Canada on Nov 2, 2000 when it acquired Fairlee Fruit Juice. The new company, based in Toronto, Ontario, later purchased Sunlike Juice, which makes it the largest single-serve fruit juice company in Canada. Having expanded its product line to include brands, Fairlee, Everfresh and Sunlike. Alfresh Beverages Canada plans to focus on better marketing.

A. Lasonde Inc has inked an agreement with Sweet Ripe Drinks Ltd that includes the acquisition of assets of a juice processing plant in Port Williams, Nova Scotia, and licensing rights to the Allen's trademark. The contract, which is worth about $3 million to $4 million, will increase A. Lasonde's share in the Ontario market, which accounts for 47% of the total apple juice consumption in Canada.

Maxxcom buys NY PR firm

Article Abstract:

New York, NY-based public relations firm, Bratskeir and Co, has been acquired by Toronto-based marketing and communications firm, Maxxcom, through its New York, NY-based communications subsidiary, Margeotes/Fertitta and Partners. Maxxcom decided to acquire Bratskeir because of its expertise, having handled big accounts such as those of Burger King, Revlon and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
