Allegations reporter aided Stasi have Germans confronting past

Gunter Wallraff, a German reporter, has been accused of providing the former East German secret police with information. Wallraff is accused of helping the Stasi police in return for information. The issue has sent Germans into a new round of "soul-searching" into their country's dark past.

Officials in Germany say that the US does not meet criteria for fighting financing for terrorists and money laundering. These officials said that several US laws obstruct investigations into money laundering and terrorist financing.
